Staining gives your deck a natural wood textured finish, perfect for a top up on a fading deck, or if you are wanting to retain the original look of the timber. Painting offers a more opaque and bold colour, perfect if your deck is in need of a full makeover, or undergoes harsh weather conditions. The lasting power of paint is much longer than staining, about 10 years. Staining on average lasts about 3 to 4 years – another factor to consider when making your decision!

Before we can begin painting or staining, we will perform cleaning. This may involve treating the deck for mould, lichen and algae, hammering down any loose nails, water-blasting the deck clean and overall making sure the timber is in prime condition for the paint/stain. If your deck has been stained or painted in the past, then we will tidy up as required, and prime the surface for a brand new paint.

Hardened Walk on Paint

If we are painting your deck then we will fill in any holes or gaps that have appeared in the surface and apply a coat of hardened walk on paint. We use a hardened walk on paint as it is dependable and durable, no matter how many shoes, socks, and paws walk on it.
